Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) is a method of introducing a controlled wound into the skin triggering a release of natural growth factors, resulting in the stimulation and production of new collagen and elastin.

The skin’s repair process begins immediately upon treatment. Fibroblasts – the cells that create new collagen – are active for up to as much as one year after just one Skin Pen treatment. New collagen and elastin production results in younger, healthier, plumper, and firmer skin, effectively reducing the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and acne scars for an overall better tone and texture.

Unlike dermal rolling, lasers, and or other ablative treatments, this process causes much less damage to the epidermis, providing for less downtime and more protection of new skin development, resulting in a higher rate of success in outcomes.

  • Commonly referred to as collagen induction therapy, our state-of-the-art device Skin Pen microneedling device mechanically induces a micro-injury and controlled trauma into the skin’s dermal and epidermal junction which induces growth factors, new collagen, and elastin with little to no downtime. The stimulation of growth factors and collagen improve acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, redness, tone and texture, and discoloration.

    An added benefit of micro-needling is its ability to allow other skin-improving ingredients to be more effective. The use of select Induction Therapies skincare ingredients post-micro-needling can optimize the results of the treatment.

    This treatment is also suitable for the neck chest arms legs and abdomen.

  • Post Treatment Care

    We will provide you with 2 small pieces of skin after each treatment. Other post treatment kits are also available for sale.

    After your treatment, it is essential that you allow your skin time to heal. Avoid applying make-up to the treated area for four days following the procedure.

    Although recovery time is minimal, try to stay out of direct sunlight for 7 days to avoid any pigmentation.

  • A strong topical numbing cream will be applied prior to the treatment to ensure comfort. During the treatment, you may feel slight scratching sensations or nothing at all. Immediately following microneedling a soothing hyaluronic acid moisturiser is applied to the skin to cool and soothe any redness or sensitivity. As an active treatment, microneedling may cause erythema, swelling, itching, or tingling sensations. This will generally disappear within a few hours. Patients may feel tender and warm on the face for the rest of the day and it is advised that skin is kept cool and calm. The day following treatment most patients are quite comfortable and can resume most activities.

  • PRF -uses your bodies own regenerative abilites to boost collagen stimulation and new cell growth.

    HA Filler adding Hyaluronic acid to your microneedling treatment increases hydration in the skin, leading to plump, smooth, and youthful skin.

    Dysport combined with microneedling delivers the neurotoxin deep into the epidermis but not to the underlying muscle, allowing the Dysport to tighten and refine the skin but not freeze the face.

  • Typically a series of 3-6 microneedling treatments is recommended, depending upon your area of correction or concern. Your skincare professional will ultimately determine a treatment schedule based on your individual goals and desires. Treatments are usually spaced in 4-week intervals. Patients with deep wrinkles, advanced sun damage, stretch marks, or any type of scars, usually require 6 or more treatments to achieve the desired results.

  • Most all patients see results after the first microneedling treatment. Individual results vary depending on individual skin health. It is most common to begin to see true changes or positive results as soon as 1-2 weeks after the first treatment. Many patients comment on positive changes in even less time. Often, change is noted within just a few days.

  • Microneedling produces results through the stimulation of growth factors and collagen, thereby promoting new skin cells to surface. As our skin ages, our collagen production naturally slows down. Your overall result will last longer when using an at-home skincare regimen that includes a daily Retinoid product. Your Lip Loft provider is best suited to make this recommendation.

    New collagen and elastin formation in the skin are documented as long as one year after just one treatment. However, a series of 3 treatments is typically recommended for best results.

  • Microneedling is considered a no-downtime treatment. Immediately after your treatment, your skin will look slightly pink to moderately red. Your medical provider will recommend skincare products for your post-care based on your individual skin, which will greatly minimize these symptoms and enhance your overall results.

  • Directly after your treatment, it is best to avoid applying make-up to the treated area for at least 24 hours following the procedure.

    After 24 hours we recommend using only a mineral-based foundation, as it cannot build bacteria.

    You may go back to your regular foundation 4 days post-treatment.
